Presentation slides

The Joint Office of Energy and Transportation (Joint Office), in partnership with the U.S. Department of Energy’s Clean Energy to Communities (C2C) Program, launched the second set of modules for the Public Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Playbook. The playbook features interactive resources to assist with the planning and building of infrastructure that supports the transition to zero-emission transportation.

The Joint Office hosted a webinar showcasing the latest set of modules designed to help communities, planning organizations, local and state governments, Tribal Nations, and other decision makers navigate important considerations when planning and deploying EV charging infrastructure.

Panelists included:

  • Jeff Peel, Deployment Manager, Joint Office of Energy and Transportation
  • Kaylyn Bopp, Project Manager, National Renewable Energy Laboratory
  • Lauren Reichelt, Project Manager, National Renewable Energy Laboratory
  • Brian Booher, Senior Planning Specialist for Zero Emissions Vehicles, Montgomery County
  • Alana Wilson, JUST Consortium Representative

Key Takeaways

  • The Joint Office created the EV Charging Infrastructure Playbook to bring resources from the Clean Energy to Communities Program cohort to a larger scale.
  • The EV Charging Infrastructure Playbook is a web-based resource to help communities plan and build public EV infrastructure.
  • Each module contains guiding questions, activities, videos, and resources to help communities build out their EV charging infrastructure.
  • Equity isn’t siloed in the playbook—each module ensures equity is being considered in that phase.
  • The NREL and Joint Office Technical Assistance teams are here to help with the planning and building of infrastructure that supports the transition to zero-emission transportation.
