APTA/FTA Power Up: Working with Electric Utilities in Public Transportation’s Zero-Emission Transition
Nov. 29, 2023
The Federal Transit Administration (FTA) will co-host a webinar with the American Public Transportation Association (APTA) with tips for transit agencies to work with public electric utilities as they transition to zero-emission vehicles. Attend to learn more about reviewing the physical infrastructure and power-supply required to charge multiple battery electric buses at a time, and ways to work out the most favorable rates. Registration is required.
The session is part of FTA’s Sustainable Transit for a Healthy Planet Challenge, which supports President Biden’s goal of achieving a 50-percent reduction in greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from 2005 levels by 2030. The challenge encourages transit agencies to adopt strategies to reduce GHG emissions, such as creating climate action or sustainability plans, converting fleets to electric buses, or making facilities more energy efficient. FTA will continue to share resources and provide opportunities to engage with transit agencies on how the industry can achieve the Administration’s GHG emission reduction goals, as well as their own agency targets.
