Verge: Driving the Road Ahead: Equitable Solutions for Zero-Emission Freight

Oct. 29, 2024 9:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. PT

Hosted by: Trellis

Speaker: Kevin Miller

150 W San Carlos St, San Jose, California 95113

Organizer's description: What strategies have emerged in 2024 to accelerate the nationwide deployment of zero-emission trucks and charging infrastructure? Transportation is the largest source of emissions in the U.S., with heavy-duty freight vehicles contributing a disproportionate amount, often concentrated in disadvantaged communities. The good news: in the last year, guidance from the federal government and leadership from major companies have made progress in developing strategies and playbooks to address these dual challenges. This tutorial brings together key stakeholders from communities, government agencies, trucking companies, real estate firms and charging providers. During this session, industry leaders that have been deeply engaged in deploying zero-emission freight charging will discuss the nuts and bolts of launching both large commercial EV charging projects and how to effectively engage everyone across disadvantaged communities, municipalities, and partners to accelerate projects and effectively decarbonize, considering both today’s solutions and tomorrow’s needs.
