- Alternative fueling infrastructure
- Alternative fuel transit and school buses.
The Joint Office will support the buildout of electric vehicle chargers, alternative fuel infrastructure, and alternative fuel transit and school buses by aligning resources and expertise to achieve this strategic goal through unifying guidance, technical assistance, and analysis for the following programs:
- National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Formula Program: This DOT program provides funding for states to build out EV charging infrastructure and establish an interconnected network to facilitate data collection and reliability.
- Charging and Fueling Infrastructure Discretionary Grant Program: This program provides funding to strategically deploy public EV charging and hydrogen, propane, and natural gas refueling infrastructure.
- Low or No Emission Vehicle Program for Transit: This DOT program provides $5.6 billion in support of low- and no-emission transit bus deployments.
- Clean School Bus Program: Through this program, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency is providing $5 billion in support of electric school bus deployments.
